about me lifter lily / lily diana
for those curious, I wanted to provide an about me lifter lily / lily diana page as sometimes people are confused about who I am and what I stand for.
I am a midwestern girl with a passion for human health and physiology, but this culminates in the sphere of self betterment. this is not limited to the body, as refinement of the mind and an empowering, growth oriented philosophy is very close to my soul.
it started with anatomical books when i was a very young girl, and a desire to become a doctor. at age 17, I enrolled in a college “respiratory therapist” program while working on my premed undergrad. this gave me hundreds upon hundreds of hours of clinical time as well as an immense knowledge base in cardiopulmonary physiology. although I learned that environment was not for me, I hold no regrets about my expirence. I saw that there was no ability to work in the traditional medical system and help people change on a root cause level. I wanted to be less bound by pharmaceutical companies and bureaucracy, as well as not being chained to a typical employer for many years.
I realized that with my discipline and drive, I could buy textbooks and read them myself. I could watch endless lectures available on the internet. I could access countless scientific journals myself.
learning has no end, but far too many people sell themselves short in regards to ambition. I am on a quest for knowledge, and have a deep desire to be able to transfigure this knowledge into pursuit of greater health.
I want people to be able to feel joy, security, health, and longevity. In a toxic world, interventions must be increasingly novel and “excessive.”
I have worn many hats. after respiratory therapy school, I went into medical device sales and also worked separately in cardiology. During this time I also obtained my pilot’s license. this yielded further insight, and I do not regret it in the slightest.
The beautiful thing about life is that you can live it a thousand times and in a thousand different ways.
When I turned 19, I asked myself, “what is the most challenging thing I can do?”
I knew I could succeed in school, traditional jobs, and other areas. But I have never been an athlete.
I took a pivot; and found myself in an MMA gym. This was an incredible challenge I wanted to take to a new level. To be able to bridge my knowledge of biohacking and myself – with me as the experiment.
MMA combines all areas of optimization: neurological, ease of learning, cardiovascular (slow and fast twitch), strength, flexibility, reaction time, injury prevention, and creativity.
I currently cycle my training intensity to maximize recovery, and rotate in different blocks where I train reaction time, strength, skill work, ect so current volume is variable – but it averages around 30 hours a week.
my journey of health
it has been a long, rocky road for me to find satisfactory mental and physical health. in the beginning, i made a lot of errors… but this only yielded more knowledge. i want to be able to use the knowledge i continue to acquire to aid in the betterment of others. as to not bore you with my past, i was fatigued, in horrible physical conditioning, had debilitating anxiety, hypothyroid, and chronic bloating. but i am living a vibrant life i never thought i could.
how I navigate health
I adore focusing on the root cause, using streamlined unconventional and conventional approaches to achieve specific outcomes. pharmacology, lifestyle interventions (specific exercise regimens, circadian rhythm modification, diet modifications, mineral balancing modifications, etc.), and supplementation! this is in the realm of longevity, cognitive optimization (my favorite), and sports performance. I love working with all sorts of people in all different areas!
what drives me?
A desire to learn. I crave refinement, carving myself into the best possible version.
I love beauty, to create, to write, to understand, and to solve.
