The shell a strung in front of me<\/span><\/p>

Cold clotted, clad in khakis<\/span><\/p>

Collared flannels, blue phalanges<\/span><\/p>

Normality, you see<\/span><\/p>

Laid out before me, majesty<\/span><\/p>

Brown hair\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Sunken stare<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Oh woe, I know, a fence, a crow<\/span><\/p>

A pallid pail sitting off the toe<\/span><\/p>

The afternoon spent casting line<\/span><\/p>

Could never succumb to this here crime\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Loud hare\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Jumping square\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

A rustle in the bush and it goes where<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

I see, I see, and to let it be<\/span><\/p>

This hollow tree sits daintily<\/span><\/p>

In peaceful acceptance of his fate\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

My heart turns and yearns to follow his wake<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

How can I look into that slumped face<\/span><\/p>

An empty hand, a blood crusted man<\/span><\/p>

And fear life I say\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Today, today<\/span><\/p>

A witness of the disarray<\/span><\/p>

A glimpse of the skin that binds our form<\/span><\/p>

But will lose its color, and the sun will mourn.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

A hollow figure I will become today<\/span><\/p>

Whispering goodbye, I see, I sigh<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

That vital blood that I liberate from my thigh<\/span><\/p>

Returned to the earth where it went awry\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Hastily I set my face to the sky<\/span><\/p>

And close, and close those restless eyes<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>

eyes widen\u2014 stomach rips<\/span><\/p>

lace unbound by swedish grips<\/span><\/p>

for rumbles of tomorrows looks\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

grace us with a troubling hook.<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>

i jolt my head with fodder falling\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

baseboard cracks of children calling.<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>

the sun is gone and i am free<\/span><\/p>

erecting idols, pure mockery\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

candles blair their wondrous tune\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

of no more summer, no more june,<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>

i jolt my head with fodder falling<\/span><\/p>

baseboard cracks of children calling<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>

\u2026yet no soul surrounds this wooden wonder<\/span><\/p>

cracks of musty gray and thunder\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>

darting stolen light i listen\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

to the final burning of the wick,<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0it glistens.<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

prometheus robbed our holy riches,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

I whisper smirking smitten. <\/span><\/p>

-.-.-.-<\/span><\/p>

Human eyes sit and spill\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Somber looks at a begotten hill<\/span><\/p>

Grass of green and rain to smell<\/span><\/p>

I stammer wondering in this living hell\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Such grace of goodness and caring touch\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Folded hands of friendship, dissipate to dust\u00a0<\/span><\/p>


<\/span>Hand to heart and heart to blade\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

What else are we to do in this hollow charade\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

but, not i, a beating heart lies<\/span><\/p>

as a brain sits stagnant <\/span><\/p>

for the universe jives<\/span><\/p>

with stochastic splatters <\/span><\/p>

of milky white platters<\/span><\/p><\/div>

how human am i.\u00a0<\/p>
